<Duties>
- Assist attorneys with legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to support case development and strategy.
- Prepare and review legal documents including contracts, pleadings, discovery materials, and correspondence with meticulous attention to detail.
- Manage legal case files using document management systems to ensure all records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Conduct interviews with clients and witnesses to gather pertinent information for ongoing cases across various practice areas like personal injury law, no-fault, landlord-tenant disputes, and family law.
- Support litigation processes by reviewing documents for relevance and accuracy, assisting with deposition summaries, and proofreading filings before submission.
- Organize and maintain data entry records for case tracking; facilitate efficient document review and case management workflows.
- Provide administrative support including scheduling appointments, managing calendars for attorneys, handling phone inquiries with professional etiquette, and performing clerical tasks such as filing and transcription.
<Skills>
- Strong knowledge of multiple practice areas including no-fault law, personal injury law, family law.
- Proven experience with legal administrative tasks such as document review, legal drafting, proofreading, transcription, and filing.
- Proficiency in legal research platforms like Westlaw and LexisNexis is highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining accuracy.
- Effective interviewing skills to gather detailed client information; strong written communication skills for drafting clear legal documents.
- Familiarity with project management principles to coordinate tasks efficiently within a busy law office environment.
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly with high standards of professionalism; strong phone etiquette and clerical experience are essential.
