Paralegal – Family Law (Montgomery County)

This position offers hands-on experience in active litigation and direct involvement in family law cases from start to finish.

What You’ll Do

  • Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery, and final orders in Texas family law cases
  • E-file documents through the Texas eFile system and ensure compliance with Montgomery County filing procedures
  • Manage case files from intake through final resolution with strict attention to deadlines
  • Coordinate hearings, mediations, and court settings with Montgomery County court coordinators
  • Maintain familiarity with local court practices, judge preferences, and scheduling procedures
  • Assist attorneys in trial preparation, including exhibits, trial binders, and witness coordination
  • Conduct legal research using LexisNexis, Westlaw, and other tools
  • Organize and manage discovery, including drafting requests and compiling responses
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff professionally and efficiently
  • Maintain organized digital and physical files
  • Track deadlines, court dates, and required filings with precision

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience as a paralegal in Texas (family law strongly preferred)
  • Familiarity with Montgomery County courts and local procedures
  • Strong working knowledge of the Texas Family Code and Texas Rules of Civil Procedure
  • Excellent drafting and proofreading skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines without supervision
  • High level of attention to detail—mistakes are not an option
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Professional communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment
