<Job Summary>
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. In this vital role, you will support a wide range of legal functions across multiple practice areas, including estate planning, family law,civil law, personal injury law, and litigation. Your expertise will help ensure the smooth operation of our law office by managing legal documents, conducting research, and assisting attorneys in preparing cases. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your legal skills while contributing to impactful legal work in a fast-paced environment.

<Responsibilities>

  • Assist attorneys with legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other case management systems to support case development and strategy.
  • Draft, review, proofread, and organize legal documents including contracts, pleadings, discovery materials, and correspondence with precision and clarity.
  • Manage document review processes and maintain meticulous case files within Clio, My case and other document management systems.
  • Conduct thorough legal research across various practice areas such as estate, family law,civil.
  • Support project management tasks by coordinating deadlines, scheduling interviews with clients or witnesses, and tracking case progress efficiently.
  • Perform administrative duties including data entry, filing, transcription of legal proceedings or client interviews, and maintaining organized records.
  • Provide executive administrative support by managing calendars, handling phone etiquette professionally, and assisting with general clerical tasks to ensure seamless office operations.

<Experience>

  • Previous paralegal experience in a busy law office or legal environment is highly preferred mainly in Family Law.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with legal research tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis.
  • Strong understanding of various practice areas including estate planning, family law, personal injury law, and litigation procedures.
  • Experience with legal case management software like PCLaw and document management systems such as iManage or similar platforms.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Able to handle 10 cases a day.
  • Exceptional writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence; proofreading accuracy is essential.
  • Effective interviewing skills for gathering information from clients or witnesses when needed.
  • Proven ability to handle administrative responsibilities such as data entry and clerical support with professionalism and confidentiality.
