About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is comfortable managing a substantial caseload, and has a strong grasp of legal procedures, drafting, and client communication. This role provides meaningful responsibility and the opportunity to contribute directly to successful case outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and prepare legal documents, including:
- Pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses
- Affidavits, correspondence, and court forms
- Final court-ready documents with minimal attorney revision
- Manage case files, organize records, and maintain deadlines.
- Communicate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and third parties.
- Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including exhibits, witness lists, and notebooks.
- Coordinate and schedule hearings, mediations, depositions, and meetings.
- Conduct factual research, gather documents, and summarize records.
- Monitor case progress and ensure timely follow-up.
- Perform e-filing and manage court submissions.
- Track and enter billable time accurately.
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of paralegal experience in a law firm setting
- Strong understanding of court rules, filing procedures, and litigation workflow.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with legal software and case management systems (e.g., Clio, MyCase, LexisNexis).
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Professional, client-centered approach.
Preferred Skills
- Experience preparing cases from intake through trial or settlement.
- Ability to anticipate attorney needs and proactively manage tasks.
- Notary Public commission (or willingness to obtain).
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, team-based environment.
