Paralegal or Legal Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal or experienced legal assistant to support our estate administrative and probate practice. This role is responsible for assisting attorneys with estate administration, client communication, document preparation, and case management from start to finish. The ideal candidate is proactive, compassionate when working with clients, and comfortable managing multiple matters in a fast-paced legal environment. The candidate will also work in special proceedings that are related to estates and guardianships.

Duties

  • Assist attorneys with drafting legal documents including contracts, pleadings, discovery requests, and correspondence with precision and clarity
  • Manage case files and document review processes to ensure accurate and organized records
  • Support litigation activities through document review, data entry, and maintaining case management systems
  • Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, transcription, proofreading, and organizing legal files in compliance with firm standards
  • Communicate with clients and third parties to gather pertinent information for estate and special proceeding cases
  • Provide executive administrative support by managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and handling phone and email etiquette professionally
  • Assist with project management tasks related to legal cases and compliance initiatives
  • Support the firm’s legal administrative functions through clerical experience including filing documents with courts or agencies

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree; Paralegal certificate preferred, but not required
  • 2+ years of experience in estate administration, probate, or related legal field
  • Strong knowledge of probate procedures and legal documentation
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in estate administration
  • Familiarity with court e-filing systems
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
