Job Summary
Plaintiff Personal Injury Paralegal / Case Manager
Busy New York plaintiff personal injury law firm seeking an experienced, organized, and proactive Paralegal / Case Manager for our high-volume practice. This position is ideal for someone who understands the day-to-day handling of motor vehicle accident and premises liability cases from intake through litigation support.
Responsibilities include:
- Opening and managing new personal injury files
- Preparing and submitting No-Fault applications (NF-2) and related benefits paperwork
- Setting up and following up on No-Fault benefits and medical treatment authorization issues
- Investigating and confirming all available insurance coverage and policy limits
- Requesting and reviewing insurance disclosures pursuant to CPLR 3101(f)
- Preparing HIPAA-compliant authorizations for medical, employment, and insurance records
- Obtaining police reports, accident reports, and related records
- Coordinating medical records requests and provider follow-up
- Managing liens, including health insurance, workers’ compensation, and medical provider liens
- Communicating with clients regarding treatment status, lost wages, and claim updates
- Assisting attorneys with discovery, litigation support, and case status management
- Scheduling depositions, IMEs, EUOs, and client appointments
- Maintaining accurate case notes, deadlines, and follow-up calendars
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in New York plaintiff personal injury law required
- Strong understanding of No-Fault claims, bodily injury claims, and insurance coverage investigation
- Familiarity with NYSCEF, Kings, Queens, Nassau, Suffolk, and Bronx practice preferred
- Experience handling HIPAA authorizations, lien resolution, and insurance verification
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a high-volume caseload
- Excellent communication and follow-up skills
- Ability to work independently and solve problems without constant supervision
- Spanish speaking is a plus, but not required
We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, aggressive with follow-up, and understands how to move files efficiently. This is not an entry-level position. Prior plaintiff personal injury experience is required.
