We are looking for someone with a passion for seeking justice and fairness, as we are a client-centric firm exclusively representing Plaintiffs in disability and injury cases.
We are looking for a Paralegal / Legal Assistant who takes pride in their work. We are willing to consider candidates only interested in half time. We are currently located in Edmonds, WA, with plans to move across from Fremont near the SPU campus within the next year or two. This can grow into a remote position for the right person after a probationary period.

As a paralegal/legal assistant at Aaron Engle Law, PLLC, you will play a critical role in supporting our clients and ensuring the efficient operation of our practice. Your responsibilities will include:
· Interacting with clients, insurance company adjusters, and opposing counsel and their staff;
· Drafting and preparing legal documents, including appeals and demands to insurance companies, pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence;
· Managing and organizing electronic case files;
· Scheduling appointments, expert testing and case reviews, and other case related activities;
· Filing documents with the court and managing case deadlines;
· Providing general administrative support as needed;
· Assisting with trial preparation, including coordinating witnesses and assembling trial exhibits;
· Conducting research and gathering factual relevant information for case;
· Client-Centered Advocacy by providing client-focused service, with sensitivity to the demands of litigation and the needs of our diverse clientele. Aim to exceed client expectations every day.

· Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate from an accredited institution (or in active attendance);
· Previous experience as a paralegal/legal assistant, preferably in insurance or injury law;
· Working knowledge of state and federal court rules, including electronic filing procedures;
· Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working under a deadline;
· Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and research techniques;
· Proficiency in case management software or a willingness to learn;
· Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail;
· Ability to work independently with self-motivation, initiative, and follow up, and willing to work as part of a team;
· Writing. Ability to synthesize detailed information into succinct, clear, and compelling prose for use in memos and pleadings. Strong proofreading skills.
· Time Management. Complete timely and accurate work while working efficiently within defined time parameters.
· Issue Spotting. Possess or develop skills necessary to identify what needs to be proved in a case.
· Strong communication skills. Ability to understand verbal and written communication while seeking clarification necessary to accurately complete assigned work. The ability to always communicate in a professional and ethical manner.
· Strong Interpersonal skills. Interact well with clients, co-workers, other law firms, and court personnel.
· Proactive. Initiates research and follows up on tasks as needed while seeking guidance and feedback from attorneys.
