Paralegal/Legal Assistant to be added at Prominent Law Firm in Murfreesboro

Description:

Our prominent mid-sized law firm is looking to add a legal assistant or paralegal with exceptional relationship and communication skills, writing and proofreading skills, and a strong work ethic. Applicants need to live within 30 miles of Murfreesboro.

Duties:

• Communicating with outside parties, including other law offices and the courts
• Drafting and/or transcribing letters and legal documents
• Providing legal administrative support for trials, hearings, and depositions
• Preparation of client billing statements
• Filing legal documents
• Calendaring and managing deadlines
• Creating and maintaining case files
• Greeting clients in a professional and friendly manner
• Answering multiple phone lines
• Copying/scanning documents
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications should include:

• Required education: bachelor’s degree in any field OR associate’s degree in paralegal studies
• Required experience: at least 2 years of experience as a litigation paralegal
• Paralegal certification preferred but not required
• Ability to prepare routine legal documents
• Familiarity with the litigation and discovery process
• Familiarity with law, legal procedures and protocols, and the court system
• Positive and friendly attitude
• Excellent grammar, punctuation, and proofreading skills
• Proficient computer, typing, and transcription skills (Word, Adobe, Excel, etc.)
• Excellent administrative support and organizational skills

Pay: Commensurate with experience.
