Paramedic/Firefighter or Paramedic

Job Summary
Join our dedicated emergency response team as a Paramedic/Firefighter or Paramedic, where you will play a vital role in providing life-saving care and ensuring public safety. This dynamic position requires quick thinking, physical stamina, and a compassionate approach. You will respond to emergency calls, deliver critical pre-hospital care. We are a 911 only service. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a tangible difference every day while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Portland Schedule: 1/3/2/3 - 24 on, 72 off then 48 on, 72 off.

100% Funded County Pension, additional Firefighter Pension AND a 457

Paramedics receive $200 stipend per 24 hour ambulance shift on top of base pay!

Duties

  • Respond promptly to emergency calls involving medical incidents, accidents, and other crises.
  • Provide advanced emergency medical services including assessment, treatment, and stabilization of patients at the scene.
  • * If a Firefighter: Operate firefighting equipment and assist in fire suppression activities to control and extinguish fires.
  • Perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks such as carrying equipment or assisting injured individuals.
  • Monitor vital signs and administer first aid, CPR, basic life support (BLS), and other essential medical interventions as needed.
  • Conduct mechanical inspections of rescue tools and firefighting gear to ensure operational readiness.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, team members, patients, and other emergency responders during high-pressure situations.

Skills

  • Proven Paramedic experience with knowledge of pre-hospital care procedures.
  • Certification in first aid, BLS and ACLS
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Firefighters: Strong mechanical knowledge for operating rescue tools and firefighting equipment safely.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks consistently.
  • Skilled in taking vital signs accurately and assessing patient conditions quickly.
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively during emergencies and document incidents thoroughly.
