Paraprofessional 2026-27 (Full-time)

New Covenant School is seeking a compassionate and dedicated paraprofessional to provide 1:1 academic, social, and emotional support for a lower elementary student. This individual will work closely with the classroom teaching team and specialists to help the student meet individualized goals while contributing to a joyful, nurturing classroom environment. A qualified candidate exemplifies joy, integrity, flexibility, initiative, creativity, and resourcefulness; has a vibrant and deepening walk with Jesus; and has a passion to help children grow into all God is calling them to be. We are looking for someone who loves children, collaborates well with others, and desires to support both learning and character formation. This role is for the 2026-27 academic year.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized academic, social, and emotional support to a lower elementary student
• Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, specialists, and support staff
• Assist with lesson activities, classroom routines, and instructional plans prepared by the teacher
• Help implement accommodations and behavioral or social supports as needed
• Encourage positive peer interaction and character formation aligned with a Biblical worldview
• Foster a safe, respectful, and joyful learning environment
• Communicate observations and progress to the teaching team
• Participate in training, meetings, and professional development as required

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, preferably in a school or childcare setting
• Ability to work closely with a team and receive direction from supervising teachers
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, flexibility, and a nurturing presence
• Alignment with the mission of New Covenant School
• Bachelor’s degree or coursework in education or related field preferred

Hours & Compensation: This is a full-time position. Compensation is hourly, in the range of $25–$45 per hour, commensurate with experience. Benefits package may apply depending on hours and employment status.
