Primary Function:
The primary function of the on-site paraprofessional is to foster learning for all students enrolled at that location.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree required, bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Motivate all students to be successful in their coursework.
- Develop meaningful relationships with students to foster success.
- Must provide great customer service to students, families and guests.
- Ability to initiate and complete tasks with self-direction in a timely manner.
- Excellent speaking and grammar skills, proofreading skills, oral and written communications skills.
- Knowledge/Skills with computer and computer software programs.
Reports to: Center Director
Term:
Up to 235 days per year. This position is full-time and will report to a center daily. Hours of operation are 8:00AM - 3:30PM (including a 30 minute unpaid lunch).
**Extended opportunities for evening hours, summer session hours and extended school year.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete weekly progress and metric reports.
- Maintain student record logs to document weekly contact.
- Conduct two way communication with students.
- Communicate with stakeholders consistently while remaining personable and professional.
- Assist with additional clerical and center specific responsibilities throughout the work day.
- Support student academic behavior plans and assist in the implementation of academic interventions.
- Assist with student enrollment.
- Assist with student orientations.
- Collaborate with teammates to provide resources and information to improve student learning.
- Monitor and utilize student data to drive school improvement efforts.
- Plan and participate in center events (State Testing, Count Day, Family Engagement Day, etc.).
- Participate in all professional development sessions and in-service learning opportunities.
- Remain current with professional development opportunities and trends.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
