The Parent & Provider Educator plays a key role in delivering childcare and development education to both parents and childcare providers. Additionally, this position involves drafting proposals, planning, and coordinating comprehensive annual educational programs and organizational training initiatives as part of the Resource & Referral (R&R) program. The educator also contributes to outreach efforts aimed at recruiting and retaining family childcare providers.
Key Responsibilities:
Training and Coordination – 50%
- Develop training, marketing, and recruit participants and class enrollment in both El Dorado & Alpine Counties.
- Schedule provider and parent trainings and deliver engaging presentations, including: Trauma Informed Care. Family, Friends and Neighbors Care, Childcare Initiative Project, Strengthening Families, Parent Cafes, CPR First Aid, Presentative Health Practices and Lead Prevention Training.
- Collaborate with community partners to deliver culturally relevant and inclusive programming.
- Collaborate with R&R Manager and Team on the plan to increase childcare capacity utilizing R&R services in both counties.
- Build and maintain relationships with community agencies, childcare providers, and public systems (e.g., child welfare, education, health).
Data Tracking and Reporting – 10%
- Create and implement timelines, design and produce outcome surveys.
- Provide data tracking and coordinate with R&R Manager to provide semi-annual and annual reports to funders and internal stakeholders.
- Participate in meetings, webinars, and professional development to receive current best practices.
- Monitor and report on provider compliance with state and agency policies, including attendance, health and safety, and billing practices.
- Enter and maintain accurate data in agency databases and state systems (e.g., MyChildCarePlan, NoHo, or similar).
- Track service delivery, outcomes, and family progress.
Technical Assistance, Coaching and Support– 20%
- Create and share Power Point docs, handouts, newsletter articles and annual training calendar.
- Provide technical assistance to both parents and childcare providers on childcare, child development and licensing regulations. Share current licensing and PIN information to licensed providers and Catalyst R&R staff.
- Work with funders and outside agencies as needed to supply provider/parent collaboration and data collection.
- Provide enhanced Bridge referrals to parents, coaching to providers and referrals to community social services.
- Create and participate in outreach activities designed to increase family childcare capacity, under the Childcare Initiative Project.
- Conduct outreach to ensure provider awareness of program requirements, quality standards, and available supports.
- Participate in outreach events, fairs, and collaborative initiatives to promote services and strengthen partnerships.
Resource and Referral– 20%
- Provide individualized referrals to licensed childcare providers based on family needs, preferences, and eligibility.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local childcare options, community resources, and support services.
- Assist families in accessing services such as housing, food, healthcare, mental health, and employment support.
- Support families in crisis or transition, including those involved in child welfare or experiencing trauma.
- Work collaboratively with office team and R&R team, share education offerings and remain current on all agency programs.
- Write proposals and assist in renewal of contracts via data and insight to current needs.
Additional Accountabilities
- Education and training provided to parents and providers.
- Quality childcare resources and referrals provided to families.
- Provision of comprehensive information and service to meet client needs.
- Professionalism in representing the organization in dealing with community agencies, parents and providers.
Required Qualifications
- B.S./B.A. with emphasis in Child Development, Human Services or related discipline required or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in case management, childcare resource and referral, or community programming.
- Experience developing and implementing curriculum for diverse age groups.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual Spanish/English.
- Experience working with diverse and underserved populations, including families impacted by trauma.

Working Conditions:

Shift Type: Full Time, Onsite
Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 8:30am - 4pm; Friday, 8:30am - 12:30pm; occasional evening & weekend hours
Compensation: $21.41 - $32.11 hourly
