About the Family

A busy and warm family in Lower Pacific Heights is seeking a capable and organized Family Assistant to help bring structure and ease to their household. They have two children, ages seven and three, and live in a multi-generational home with the children’s grandparents, who are kind and supportive and help keep the home running smoothly.

Both parents manage global teams and often work across time zones, creating a fast-paced schedule. While they enjoy being hands-on with their children and typically handle school pickups and activities themselves, they are looking for someone who can take ownership of the many administrative and household tasks that support their daily life. They are hoping to find a reliable and proactive person who enjoys helping a busy family stay organized and ahead of the details.

The role is primarily focused on family assistant and household management support, with occasional childcare for their 3 and 7-year-olds. The family has recently purchased a second home in Sonoma and would appreciate occasional help related to that property as well.

Their Ideal Candidate

Their ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and a strong communicator who enjoys helping a household run smoothly. They are looking for someone flexible and easygoing while also capable of taking initiative and following through on tasks independently.

The right person will be comfortable managing a wide range of responsibilities, from scheduling vendors and coordinating travel plans to handling everyday household logistics. They should enjoy problem-solving and taking care of the small details that make a meaningful difference in a busy family’s life.

This position is best suited for someone professional, resourceful, and dependable, with a calm and steady presence. A college-educated candidate is preferred, and prior experience supporting busy households is a plus.

Responsibilities

Home Care and Daily Reset

  • Daily tidying and thoughtful resetting of living spaces
  • Kitchen resets, including dishwashers, counters, and surfaces
  • Laundry care, including washing, folding, and proper storage
  • Closet, pantry, and drawer organization
  • Seasonal and holiday home projects

Household Management and Errands

  • Inventory tracking and restocking household essentials
  • Grocery shopping and dry cleaning coordination
  • Running local errands as needed
  • Scheduling and coordinating vendors and home services
  • Car care coordination, including washes and maintenance
  • Seasonal readiness and home refresh projects

Light Administrative Support

  • Household research and sourcing projects
  • Scheduling and researching travel
  • Tracking service timelines and supply needs

To ensure the success of our nanny position, we have established the following requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of recent, professional experience in childcare.
  • Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Impressive references from past employers, demonstrating reliability, professionalism, and exceptional childcare skills.
  • Willingness to undergo two background checks, namely Trustline and Nanny Verify, ensuring the safety and security of our children.
  • Valid U.S. citizenship or work authorization.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • CPR certification (if applicable).
  • Current vaccinations, including flu, Tdap, and proof of Covid-19 vaccination and boosters.

Pay: From $45.00 per hour
