Overview
The Wilkins School Community Center is seeking an organized, engaging, and community-oriented Part-Time Administrative and Communications Assistant to support our
daily operations and community engagement efforts.
In this role, you will be the welcoming
voice and face of WSCC for our neighbors and visitors. This dynamic position blends customer
service, event coordination, basic bookkeeping, and digital storytelling.
While the role is designed to be fully remote, the ability to work onsite during busy programming
days is a highly valued bonus.
Key Responsibilities
Communications & Digital Presence
(Approx. 3–4 hours/week)
- Social Media Management: Create and execute a digital strategy to increase community engagement; previous experience in social media management is essential for thisrole.
- Content Creation: Draft and design engaging social media posts using Canva or other tools to highlight upcoming programs, community events, and facility updates.
- Website Management: Update and maintain the WSCC Squarespace website with current event details, schedules, and announcements.
- Community Outreach: Monitor and respond to digital community feedback, emails, and direct messages.
Event Coordination & Customer Service (Approx. 3–4 hours/week)
- Inquiry Management: Act as the primary point of contact by answering phone calls and responding to inquiries professionally.
- Booking Management: Oversee the facility rental and program booking pipeline, ensuring all requests are tracked and confirmed.Administrative Support (Approx. 1–2 hours/week)
- Invoicing: Create, update, and manage rental and program invoices using Quick books and Google Workspace tools.Onsite Operations (Optional / Nice-to-Have)
- Program Support: Opportunity to work onsite to assist with coordination, check-ins, and community engagement during peak times.
Qualifications
- Experience: 1–2 years of experience in administrative support, customer service, or community engagement.
- Social Media: Essential: Proven experience managing social media platforms and creating digital content.
- Technical Skills: Web Experience
- Essential Experience with Squarespace or general website management for regular updates.
- QuickBooks: Proficiency or willingness to learn QuickBooks for invoicing.
- Google Workspace: Experience with Gmail, Docs, Drive, and Sheets.
- Design: Familiarity with Canva or other tools for design.
- Communication: Strong working knowledge of email and phone correspondence.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail, and a passion for community-driven initiatives.
- Availability: Ability to dedicate 8–10 hours per week.
