The Edutainment Zone is a growing early learning center dedicated to protecting play and childhood wonder. With multiple locations across the Rio Grande Valley, our mission is to create fun, safe, and enriching environments for children while supporting families in their child care needs. Our program is rooted in play-based learning, meaningful relationships, and high standards of care.

We are seeking a part-time art teacher. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being around children, is naturally warm and attentive, and wants to create opportunities for children to engage in art early in life.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nurturing, responsive care to children across classrooms and age groups
• Actively engage with children through conversation, play, guidance, and daily routines
• Support classroom routines including supervision, and transitions
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment at all times
• Communicate respectfully and effectively with coworkers, leadership, and families
• Follow all Edutainment Zone policies and Texas Child Care Licensing Minimum Standards
• Participate in required orientation, training, and professional development

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

• Enjoys being around children and naturally interacts with them in a warm, positive way
• Understands that strong caregiving includes talking with children, guiding them, and staying engaged, not simply supervising from a distance
• Is dependable, flexible, and willing to support where needed
• Works well with others and contributes to a positive team environment
• Can keep up with the physical and emotional demands of a fast-paced child care setting

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must pass a criminal background check required
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required for transportation duties
• CPR and First Aid Certification, or willingness to obtain
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and comfortably work on the floor, in classrooms, and on the playground
• Strong teamwork, communication, and multitasking skills

Scheduling
We are specifically seeking someone who is available to work a part-time afternoon schedule, either 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., depending on availability and center needs.
