Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Part Time Art Teacher for the academic year SY26-27 to inspire creativity and foster artistic development among students. Duties
- Develop and implement engaging art curricula aligned with educational standards and student needs, incorporating elements of creative writing, visual arts, and digital media learning technology
- Plan and deliver stimulating lessons on various art forms, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media, fostering both technical skills and creative thinking
- Mentor students in developing their portfolios, encouraging experimentation and self-expression while providing constructive feedback
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe, inclusive, and productive learning environment
- Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing where applicable
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development initiatives to ensure cohesive art programs across grade levels
- Support students with special educational needs by adapting lessons to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities
Qualifications
- Proven classroom experience teaching art or related subjects in a school setting
- Familiarity with learning technology tools used in modern classrooms to enhance visual arts education
- Excellent communication skills for effective public speaking, student mentoring, and parent engagement
- Demonstrated ability to manage classroom behavior while fostering a positive learning atmosphere
- Experience working with children of different age groups and backgrounds, including those requiring special education accommodations
- Skills in tutoring, literacy education, creative writing, and sports coaching are considered valuable assets for holistic student development
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and experience in education administration or academic advising are advantageous
- Must have a teaching certification in the area which you are applying for the state of Illinois.
