Part-time assistant

Overview
We are seeking a proactive and organized Part-time Assistant to support daily operations across various departments. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills to gain valuable experience in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will be versatile, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to team success. Prior experience in retail management, administrative tasks, or customer service is a plus. Responsibilities

  • Assist with employee orientation, onboarding, and training sessions to ensure smooth integration of new team members
  • Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing candidates and maintaining applicant records
  • Manage inventory control, stock replenishment, and merchandising to ensure product availability and presentation standards are met
  • Handle cashiering duties including POS transactions, cash handling, and sales processing with accuracy and efficiency
  • Support store management with shift management, scheduling, and daily operational tasks
  • Maintain organized records of payroll, bookkeeping, and administrative documentation
  • Contribute to marketing initiatives by assisting with promotional activities and store displays
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive shopping experience
  • Assist in purchasing decisions by managing inventory levels and coordinating with suppliers as needed
  • Support management in supervising staff and ensuring adherence to store policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Proven experience or familiarity with retail sales, management, or administrative functions
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team; supervisory or assistant manager experience is a plus
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems, POS software, and basic bookkeeping or payroll functions
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities are advantageous for diverse customer interactions
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in training & development or team management preferred
  • Knowledge of retail math, pricing strategies, merchandising, and store operations is beneficial
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional administrative or retail certifications are advantageous
