Part-Time Bank Teller

Position Summary

A teller often serves as the first point of contact and has the responsibility of answering customers’ questions, while explaining Unico Bank services that best meet the customers’ needs. They are the first line of defense for ensuring prompt and correct processing of all customer’s transactions, including but not limited to entering account and personal information by completing necessary forms and/or documents pertaining to each transaction. This individual will direct customers to other appropriate bank personnel for assistance, as needed, and strives to meet service standards in addition to monitoring and maintaining individual controls of cash.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Help customers complete basic financial transactions including check cashing, deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, wire transfers, cash advances, currency exchanges, stop payments and holds, cashier’s checks, money orders, savings bonds, and closing of accounts
  • Answer customer questions and provide information about Unico Bank’s services including instant issue debit cards, online and mobile banking, and various consumer account types
  • Ability in verifying customer identities, while maintaining a high level of confidentiality
  • Maintain and successfully reconcile a cash drawer
  • Adhere to federal and state banking regulations as well as Unico Bank policies, procedures, risk management, and internal controls
  • Answer telephones and transfer calls to the appropriate person following the bank’s customer service standards
  • Assist with the daily verification of deposits in the night depository
  • Accept and process address changes per bank policy
  • Provide an explanation of online banking to customers and troubleshoot any issues with access or enrollment
  • Allow customers to access safe deposit boxes, maintain box agreements and entry log per current procedures
  • Stay informed of all operational updates and changes to ensure compliance with all current guidelines
  • Complete training modules monthly and annually as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualification Requirements

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • High school diploma or GED required and a minimum of one year of cash handling or teller experience strongly preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Flexibility with hours and days scheduled. Saturday availability is required.
  • Must possess the ability to speak clearly so others can understand
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure. Ability to use a basic calculator.
  • Provide a high level of customer service offering answers and assistance with a smile
  • Ability to deal directly with the public (face-to-face and on the phone) following the Bank’s customer service standards

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
