Part-Time Barista

About the position

Rare Earth Coffee Los Banos is seeking dynamic baristas for our new location in Los Banos. This role is pivotal in maintaining the day-to-day functions and efficiency of the coffee shop, ensuring that we maintain high standards in drink making, customer service, and team performance. As a Rare Earth Coffee Barista, you will be responsible for the handling of drinks, handling transactions and being the first contact of community engagement to the city. Your leadership will be crucial to delivering exceptional customer experiences that align with our brand values. In this position, you will collaborate with your fellow baristas and management to ensure that the store operates smoothly and efficiently. You will maintain store policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with company standards. Your passion for coffee and commitment to delivering high-quality products and service will be essential in creating a welcoming environment for our customers. This is a part-time position with available morning, afternoon and evening shifts schedule from Monday to Thursday, with weekends required open to availability. Responsibilities

• Preparing and serving beverages such as drip coffee, espresso-based drinks, tea, energy drinks and other specialty drinks
• Keeping the work environment and cafe seating area clean, sanitary and organized
• Engage in the day-to-day operations of the store, ensuring high standards in sales, customer service, and team performance.
• Drive sales growth through efficient customer service, quality drink making and engaging conversation.
• Maintain customer levels of satisfaction by answering customers’ questions about menu choices, promoting and recommending menu options to customers and taking various forms of payment from customers.
• Motivate, and support your team to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
• Maintain and follow store policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with company standards for drink making and customer service.
• Strong teamwork abilities to work efficiently in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with other Baristas

Preferred Requirements

• Experience in a retail or food service role.
• High school diploma; relevant training is a plus
• Flexibility to work various shifts

Requirements.

• Excellent customer service skills with a focus on creating a welcoming environment.
• Time Management. Ensure you have reliable transportation and can be on time for scheduled shifts and mandatory meetings.
• Availability to work weekends as needed.
• Communication and math. Written, oral, and verbal English proficiency is required. Other language fluency is highly valued. Talking, expressing, or exchanging ideas by means of verbal communication happens regularly. Must be able to correctly handle large transactions and/or basic math on orders.
• Maintain movements such as standing, walk or reaching during your working hours, which can be up to 8 hours in a shift There may be possible stooping, kneeling, or crawling. You may need to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 40 lbs,
• Ability to follow healthy and safety standards of the company, city, county and state. Uphold company values and follow procedures on standards and practices through employee handbook (dress code, code of conduct, responsibilities, etc.)
