Job Overview

BRITECITY is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safeguarding the integrity of BRITECITY’s financial records by capturing and entering daily transactions quickly and accurately, creating clean, up-to-date books that form the reliable foundation for compliance, cash-flow visibility, and timely decision-making.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Financial Record-Keeping and Data Integrity

● Accurately record daily financial transactions directly into QuickBooks Online (QBO).

● Manage the Accounts Payable (AP) process using Bill.com, ensuring bills are correctly entered, approved, and accurately exported to QBO for payment processing.

● Ensure all recorded expenses have proper supporting documentation (e.g., bills) and are recognized within the correct accounting period.

● Generate and apply Credit Memos and manage all related documentation with precision.

Administrative and Operational Support

● Manage agreement and contract details within the ConnectWise system (or similar PSA/CRM).

● Perform 1st-tier data and transaction corrections as needed, escalating complex issues to the Senior Accountant for review.

● Manage the bill approval and payment cycle in Bill.com, communicating effectively with internal approvers to maintain timely payments.

Communication and Triage

● Serve as the initial point of contact (1st-tier) for financial-related inquiries received via email, Teams, and the internal ticketing system.

● Efficiently triage and respond to incoming correspondence (inbox and Teams messages) and resolve or redirect support tickets in a timely manner.

● Maintain clear, professional communication and proactively escalate complex inquiries or corrections to the Senior Accountant when necessary.

● Reporting: This role is functionally overseen by the fractional accounting team (Vessel Advisors) and operationally directed by the BRITECITY Operations Lead, with escalations to BRITECITY management.

Qualifications

● 3+ years in bookkeeping/AP or accounting ops (MSP/IT services experience a plus).

● Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; equivalent experience (3+ years) may be considered.

● Solid grasp of GAAP concepts (accrual vs cash, cut-off, classes/depts), strong Excel/Sheets skills (filters, pivot tables, XLOOKUP).

● Proficiency with QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Bill.com.

● Familiarity with PSA/CRM systems (e.g., ConnectWise) is a plus.

● Excellent data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy.

● Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.

● Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

● High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential financial information.

Work Schedule & Compensation:

  • This is a part-time position with flexible hours.
  • Expected hours: 5 - 10 hours per week (2 days minimum during business hours)
  • Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
