Join our dynamic team as a Part-time Bookkeeper/HR Admin, where you will play a vital role in managing financial records and supporting human resources functions. Key Responsibilities
- Administer biweekly payroll, including entering hours, verifying data, processing deductions, and generating summary reports.
- Oversee bi-weekly and quarterly 401(k) match and profit-sharing calculations, ensuring compliance with payroll and accounting standards.
- Worker’s Compensation payments and true up online
- Coordinate with production and management teams to ensure accurate union dues, benefits, and tax reporting.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including posting to AR, processing vendor payments, and reconciliation in JobBOSS ERP.
- Enter and verify payable invoices in JobBOSS; allocate credit card receipts and maintain accurate financial records.
- Prepare and process bank deposits, transfer payroll funds, and perform remote check deposits.
- Proactively follow up on outstanding receivables, consistently obtaining payment commitments, and reducing overdue balances.
- Generate monthly financial summaries, reconcile bank accounts, and perform inventory valuations for accurate reporting.
- File and remit sales and use tax for Ohio and Pennsylvania, including semi-annual and CAT (Commercial Activity Tax) filings.
- Lead year-end close processes, preparing exhibits for liability accounts, completing journal entries, and finalizing tax and inventory adjustments.
Experience
- Proven experience working with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and account analysis.
- Experience in corporate or non-profit accounting environments with familiarity in GAAP standards.
- Knowledge of governmental accounting practices and tax experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to perform bank reconciliations, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation accurately.
- Familiarity with payroll processing systems and financial report writing is highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic proficiency in 10 key typing for data entry accuracy; experience with governmental or public accounting is advantageous.
