Part-Time Chemistry Teacher / Tutor (Summer 2026, With Potential School-Year Continuation)

Brown Academy, an academic institute in Great Neck, New York, is seeking a strong and reliable Chemistry Teacher / Tutor for the summer term. This position may continue into the regular academic year based on performance, student enrollment, and scheduling needs. We also welcome candidates who are available for the summer only.

The ideal candidate can teach Chemistry clearly and confidently to middle school and/or high school students, build students’ academic confidence, and adapt instruction to different skill levels.

Responsibilities

• Teach Chemistry to middle school and/or high school students in small groups or one-on-one settings
• Support school-year learning, honors-level coursework, Regents, AP, or general academic reinforcement depending on student needs
• Prepare lesson materials, homework, quizzes, and review packets as needed
• Track student progress and communicate clearly with the academy regarding attendance, performance, and concerns
• Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and strong classroom presence

Qualifications

• Strong background in Chemistry or a closely related field
• Prior teaching, tutoring, or academic coaching experience preferred
• NYS certification is welcome but not required
• Candidates with classroom teaching experience, tutoring center experience, graduate study, or strong science academic backgrounds are encouraged to apply
• Must be dependable, organized, and able to explain concepts in a clear, student-friendly way

• Part-time
• Summer 2026 availability required
• Candidates available to continue during the school year are strongly preferred, but summer-only applicants are also welcome
