Part-Time Communications & Administrative Assistant

The Art Base is a non-profit community art center in Basalt, CO. Its mission is to foster creative expression in the visual arts for all ages and abilities. We take pride in providing educational opportunities and artmaking experiences, as well as serving as a platform for artists to exhibit their work.

The Art Base is seeking a part-time Communications and Administrative Assistant. This hourly role splits time between core communications projects (75%) and essential office operations (25%). You will collaborate closely with the Communications and Operations Manager to boost brand visibility, celebrate our mission, and share our stories.

This position reports to: Communications and Operations Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Communications Assistant (75%)

· Content Creation: Capture in-house content and gather updates from staff for social media posts.

· Helps Communications Manager schedule & plan social media campaigns and strategy.

· Graphic Design: Design flyers, posters, and digital assets for Art Base educational programs, exhibitions and special events.

· Ads: Execute Meta strategy, manage paid ads.

· Web & Community: Upload events to the organization website and manage community calendars.

· Institutional Campaigns: Assist with large-scale projects such as the annual report, end-of-year campaign, and gala materials.

Administrative Assistant (25%)

· Answer phone calls and assist visitors.

· Maintain and order office supplies and equipment to ensure smooth daily operations.

· Assist Executive Director with office tasks as needed.

· Complete additional projects and duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications

· Strong working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and graphic design fundamentals.

· Experience with Meta Business Suite, Meta Ads, and social media platforms.

· Self-starter who works well independently and possesses a strong creative edge.

· High attention to detail with a proven ability to meet strict deadlines.

16 – 24 hours per week position

Compensation:

$23.75 – $25.00 an hour based on experience with sick time accrual.

In-person required (Basalt, CO), with some remote flexibility.

Pay: $23.75 - $25.00 per hour
