Part-Time Community Relations Liaison

As a Marketing Liaison at Encompass Health, you'll play a crucial role in helping us drive growth through patient referrals. To help support our business goals, your primary focus will be on cultivating strong referral relationships within a geographic territory.

The Community Relations Liaison, in conjunction with the other members of the Admission Team, is responsible for activities and actions related to promoting the services and expertise of the organization to current and potential referral sources, clients and their family members, and the community at large.

The Hospice Marketer will be responsible for building and maintaining referral partnerships, increasing community awareness of hospice services, and supporting sustainable census growth through ethical and compliant outreach practices.

The Community Liaison serves as a strategic ambassador for Meridian Health Partners within the assigned market. This role is responsible for developing, strengthening, and sustaining referral and partnership relationships with physicians, hospitals, post-acute facilities, and community stakeholders to support Meridian’s integrated, value-based care model.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and establish relationships with potential clients and referral sources
  • Participate in community events and activities to promote services
  • Track and report on marketing activities and outcomes
  • Articulates service capabilities to the targeted audience.
  • Proactively follows up on new account leads.
  • Builds and nurtures viable, value-based relationships within key accounts.
  • Establishes a public relations program for the interpretation of the agency’s services and to foster good working relations with physicians and community agencies.
  • Generates referrals from physicians, discharge planners, social workers, case managers, SNFs, and other healthcare settings/professionals.
  • Utilizes market intel data and available tools to aid in growth.
  • Attends community, networking, and social events and gatherings.
  • Carries out other duties as assigned.

Business Development & Referral Management

Develop and strengthen referral relationships with:

  • Hospitals and discharge planners
  • Physicians and specialty clinics Case managers and social workers
  • Conduct routine in-person visits to referral sources throughout the Dallas area. Identify new growth opportunities and maintain an active referral pipeline. Track and report referral trends and marketing activities to leadership.

Community Education & Outreach

  • Provide education on services, and benefits to healthcare professionals and community partners.
  • Coordinate and participate in networking events, and community outreach initiatives. Serve as a professional ambassador

Market Development & Relationship Management

  • Establishes and maintains strong, trusted relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, home health agencies, and other post-acute partners.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for community partners, ensuring consistent communication, responsiveness, and follow-through.
  • Educates referral sources on Meridian’s clinical services and care models.
  • Identifies opportunities to expand service lines, improve care coordination, and strengthen alignment with referral partners.

Strategic Growth & Market Intelligence

  • Conducts ongoing market assessments to identify trends, competitive dynamics, and growth opportunities within the assigned territory.
  • Provides feedback and insights to leadership regarding community needs, service gaps, and partnership opportunities.

Brand Representation & Community Engagement

  • Represents professionally and ethically at community events, meetings, and industry forums.
  • Builds and protects reputation for clinical excellence, transparency, and integrity.
  • Promotes a consistent brand message aligned with organizational values and regulatory standards.

Compliance & Professional Standards

  • Adheres to Meridian policies, procedures, and ethical standards at all times.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Participates in internal meetings, trainings, and cross-functional initiatives as required.
  • Maintains regular, reliable attendance and flexibility to meet market and organizational needs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Environment & Travel Requirements

  • Field-based role requiring approximately 80–90% travel within the assigned geographic territory.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain an insured, reliable vehicle in accordance with state law.
  • Physical requirements include sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Works under a variety of conditions in facilities and offices.
  • Ability to travel locally within the assigned territory daily and to sales meetings as required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Some exposure to unpleasant weather.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited college/university preferred
  • Experience: Previous post-acute healthcare sales experience preferred, especially in SNFs, DME, ortho, and cardiac. Home health sales highly preferred
  • Skills: Excellent communication, selling, and problem-solving skills. Ability to articulate service capabilities to the targeted audience.
  • Go-getter attitude, outgoing and driven
  • Transportation: Reliable transportation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business, marketing, or a related field preferred (relevant experience may substitute).
  • Minimum of 1–3 years of healthcare relationship management, market development, or provider-facing experience.
  • Experience in post-acute care, value-based care, physician services, hospice, palliative care, or care coordination strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable operating in a fast-growing healthcare environment.
  • Proficient with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and healthcare communication tools.
  • Ability to function effectively in an interdisciplinary, physician-led care model
  • Current driver's license in the employed state and an acceptable driving record as per company policy.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent job experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a healthcare environment, preferably as a clinician or tech.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as liaison or successful sales experience in healthcare environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with acute hospitals, rehab facilities, and the local healthcare market preferred.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of healthcare marketing, hospice, or home health experience.
  • Established relationships within the Dallas healthcare market preferred.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills. Self-motivated, organized, and goal-oriented.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (field-based role).

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 10 per week
