Part-Time Construction Accounts Receivable / Collections Specialist (Remote)

Overview
Stop & Go Traffic Control is a Connecticut-based traffic control company providing certified flaggers and traffic safety services on state, municipal, and infrastructure projects throughout Connecticut. We work primarily under prevailing wage contracts and service general contractors on CTDOT and public works projects.

We are seeking a highly experienced Accounts Receivable & Collections Specialist who understands construction billing and knows how to professionally but firmly manage contractor payment cycles.

Position Overview

This role is focused on managing receivables, enforcing payment timelines, and improving cash flow. This is not a bookkeeping position — we are seeking a collections-driven professional experienced in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage weekly Accounts Receivable aging report
• Proactively follow up on all invoices before due date
• Enforce payment terms (Net 30 / Pay-When-Paid)
• Communicate with PMs, A/P departments, and CFOs
• Track retainage and release schedules
• Assist with change order billing follow-ups
• Prepare documentation for potential lien notices (if required)
• Provide weekly cash flow projection report to ownership
• Coordinate payment status updates with operations team

Required Experience

• Minimum 3+ years in Construction Accounts Receivable
• Experience with prevailing wage and public works billing
• Familiar with CTDOT or municipal project environments (preferred)
• Strong collections and escalation skills
• Comfortable holding contractors accountable professionally
• Experience working with QuickBooks (or similar system)
