We recently completed our first retreat and have hours of incredible footage sitting on a hard drive that now needs to be turned into social media content, recap videos, testimonials, ads, and marketing assets that inspire people to join us for future retreats.

About the Role

We are looking for a creative, part-time content creator and video editor who can help us bring the HBD Retreats brand to life online.

This is not a boring corporate editing job.

This is for someone who wants to help build something exciting from the ground floor - someone who loves storytelling, travel, wellness, social media, and creating content that actually makes people feel something.

You will help us turn raw footage into short-form videos, Instagram Reels, TikToks, Facebook content, recap videos, YouTube Shorts, testimonials, promotional videos, website content, and paid ads.

You do not need to be a full-time professional editor or agency-level creative. We care more about having a good eye, strong editing instincts, creativity, reliability, and someone who wants to grow with us long term.

Responsibilities

- Review and organize raw footage from retreats and events

- Edit short-form videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts

- Create longer-form recap videos and promotional content

- Add music, captions, transitions, text overlays, sound bites, branding, and light motion graphics

- Help identify the best moments, hooks, emotional scenes, and storytelling angles

- Collaborate with the founders on content ideas, strategy, messaging, and creative direction

- Attend occasional in-person meetings in Southern California

- Potentially help capture future content at events, photoshoots, and retreats

- Help us build a content engine that grows the brand over time

Qualifications

- Basic to intermediate experience with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or similar

- Understanding of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, and social media trends

- Ability to create content that feels modern, exciting, emotional, and authentic

- Strong communication and ability to meet deadlines

- Local to Southern California for occasional in-person collaboration

- Bonus if you have experience with wellness, fitness, retreats, travel, events, personal brands, or lifestyle content

- Bonus if you have filming experience in addition to editing
