Position Overview

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Contract Bookkeeper to support our growing client portfolio. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with a variety of small businesses and wants to be part of a collaborative accounting firm environment.

This position offers flexible remote work while maintaining a consistent in-person collaboration day each week at our Irvine office.

Schedule & Work Structure

  • 10–15 hours per week
  • Flexible scheduling for remote hours
  • One in-office day per week in Irvine (minimum 4 hours) for collaboration and workflow coordination

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate bookkeeping for multiple small business clients
  • Categorize transactions and perform bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable when applicable
  • Assist with monthly financial close and preparation of financial reports
  • Maintain organized digital records and bookkeeping documentation
  • Assist with job costing and project-based accounting where applicable
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records
  • Communicate professionally with team members and occasionally clients

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a small or mid-sized accounting firm
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop
  • Strong skills in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong written communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple client files and deadlines independently
  • High attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in Accounting or related field
  • Experience with job costing
  • Experience supporting multiple small business clients

Compensation

  • $25/hour
  • Contract position (1099)
  • 10–15 hours per week

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
