Facilities Custodian (Part-Time)

The Huntingdon County Library is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Facilities Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our community.

Position Overview

This part-time position is responsible for routine cleaning, basic maintenance, and occasional groundskeeping. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, dependable, and takes pride in their work.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning of public and staff areas (vacuuming, mopping, dusting, sanitizing, etc.)
• Manage trash and recycling, including curbside pickup
• Complete periodic deep-cleaning tasks (windows, carpets, ceiling fans, etc.)
• Perform minor repairs (basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting)
• Maintain cleaning and maintenance supplies
• Assist with light groundskeeping, including mowing and seasonal upkeep
• Assist with moving materials, furniture, and deliveries
• Follow safety procedures and report maintenance needs

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Child Abuse and PA State Police Clearances are required before start date
• Experience with cleaning and basic maintenance preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• Dependable, flexible, and team-oriented
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean environment
