Part-Time Data Analyst

Location: Remote (Los Angeles-based preferred; in-person within 6 months)

Schedule: Part-Time | 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM PST, Monday – Friday

About Us

MHK Capital Management is a newly launched systematic hedge fund specializing in quantitative, options-based trading strategies. We combine rigorous data analytics with disciplined execution to identify and capture opportunities across equity index options. As we expand our data infrastructure, we’re seeking a Part-Time Data Analyst to help build and maintain the core systems powering our research, and assist in retrieving the necessary data for our strategy backtests.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain and update our Google BigQuery database containing large-scale historical and intraday options data.
• Write, optimize, and automate SQL queries to extract and process relevant datasets.
• Manage and update Excel-based workbooks that track option premiums, performance metrics, and trading signals.
• Work closely with the portfolio managers to ensure data accuracy and timely delivery of reports.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong working knowledge of SQL, particularly with cloud databases (BigQuery experience preferred).
• Proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy, and data manipulation libraries).
• Advanced Excel skills, including dynamic formulas (xlookup, filter, etc.), pivot tables, data visualization, and VBA/macros.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for working with large financial datasets.
• Familiarity with equity options or market data is a plus
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently in a small, high-performance team.

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Finance, or a related quantitative field.

Schedule & Work Environment

• Hours: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM PST, Monday through Friday.
• Initially remote, with plans to transition to an in-person or hybrid role within the next 6 months (Los Angeles, California).

Compensation

• $30 per hour, paid biweekly.
• Year-end bonus potential based on performance and contribution.
• The position may convert to a full-time role as the fund expands.
