Part Time Dental Assistant

Encino Children’s Surgery Center is seeking a Dental Assistant who is excited to grow in a fast-paced pediatric surgical environment. As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with our dentists and clinical team to deliver high-quality care to our young patients. Responsibilities include assisting with procedures, taking and developing x-rays, maintaining accurate records, and supporting administrative tasks as needed. This position reports directly to the Nurse Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during procedures by preparing patients, setting up equipment, and providing necessary instruments.
• Take and develop dental x-rays as directed.
• Prepare, maintain, and sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to infection control standards.
• Educate patients and families on proper dental hygiene and post-procedure care.
• Accurately record and update patient information in dental records.
• Support front-office operations including scheduling appointments and answering phones.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment.
• Manage inventory and assist with ordering dental supplies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the dentist or Nurse Manager.

Qualifications

• Dental Assistant Certification/Licensure.
• Active Radiology/X-ray license.
• Active BLS certification.
• Ability to obtain ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• Knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and materials.
• Understanding of infection control standards and protocols.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
