Part Time Direct Support Professional

PLEASE READ: We are hiring for a Part Time weekend position. Located near Eagle Crest. This is for 7 hours on Saturdays and 7 hours on Sundays working with a gentleman that utilizes a wheelchair. Access to a wheelchair accessible van available.

Job Description

One Source Home Care Services is a small agency in Juneau that offers Home and Community Based Services. We offer adults, children, young people and their families innovative and quality services and supports that lead to growth and independence.

Direct Service Professional Job Responsibility:

• Provides direct care to those with intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities.
• Preforms personal care tasks, including assistance with basic personal hygiene and grooming, feeding and ambulation.
• Monitoring of health and safety.
• Skill building and social assistance.
• Fosters positive relationships between caretakers and individuals served.
• Reminds and assists individuals they work with self administration of medication (with proper training)
• Encourages self-help activities.
• Reports change of individuals condition or family situation to administrators and supervisors.
• Document service provided.
• Preforms home management functions such as light housekeeping and other tasks as assigned.
• Assist with daily living skills.
• Follow State rules and regulations when performing job duties.
• Preforms a variety of skill building and other tasks that are assigned to assist in the success of the individual and family that the DSP provide services for.

Qualifications and Skills

• Ability to work in a home and community setting
• Communication skills (verbally and written) with all levels of personnel, internal and external to the company.
• Ability to handle physical aspects of the job including bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching and walking.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Must be willing to train others and be trained
• Be on time and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
• Must have email and internet access.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
18 years of age or older
Valid Driver license

Must have own vehicle

Current CPR/First Aid preferred but will train

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $22.50 - $23.00 per hour
