Part-Time Donation Dispatcher

Job Summary
Qualified candidates will have a background in scheduling and logistics, experience with construction or home improvement related retail sales, have a “customer first” mindset, and have the desire to work in a nonstandard retail environment. The ReStore Associate duties:

Responsible for answering phones during business hours, scheduling donation pick-ups with potential donors and setting up daily route. Assisting the manager with coordination and covering the donation truck when needed. In the absence of the Manager will ensure the donation area and dock operations are staffed.

• Promptly attend to any customer questions/issues in person and on the phone
• Interact positively with donors and customers.
• Provide superior customer service to donors and customers.
• Follow all store policies and procedures.
• Maintains radio or telephone contact with Drivers to receive instructions or be dispatched to new location.
• Schedule truck for regular maintenance and repairs.
• Record and maintain donor records.
• Track donors in Jotform platform.
• Pricing and cashier when needed

• Specific knowledge and skills required:
• Minimum High School Diploma or GED
• Knowledge of fair market values of new and used building materials.
• Superior customer service skills.
• Able to supervise volunteers with a wide range of skills and abilities.
• Good computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Windows XP and Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Working knowledge of geographic area and roads.
• Valid FL drivers license.

Duties

• Coordinate donation pickups and deliveries by scheduling routes using transportation management systems and GPS technology.
• Communicate clearly with drivers via multi-line phone systems, providing instructions, updates, and support throughout their routes.
• Utilize GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools to optimize routing plans for efficiency and timely service delivery.
• Enter data accurately into systems such as Oracle Transportation Management, SyteLine, and AS400 to track shipments, schedules, and inventory movements.
• Monitor freight movement through transportation planning software, ensuring compliance with shipping & receiving protocols.
• Maintain detailed logs of dispatch activities, including inbound/outbound schedules and driver notes.
• Provide exceptional phone etiquette and communication skills when interacting with donors, drivers, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations.

Experience

• Prior experience in transportation management or logistics is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with GIS, GPS navigation tools, and transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or SyteLine is advantageous.
• Strong analysis skills to evaluate routing options and troubleshoot dispatch issues effectively.
• Knowledge of freight handling, shipping & receiving procedures, fleet management, and 3PL (third-party logistics) operations.
• Proficiency in data entry with typing speeds conducive to fast-paced environments.
• Experience working with multi-line phone systems and providing excellent customer service through phone etiquette.
• Understanding of supply chain processes, transportation planning, and logistics coordination will set you up for success in this role.
