Part Time Entry Level Barista / Cashier

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and provide attentive service to ensure a positive café experience
• Prepare a variety of coffee drinks and beverages following established recipes and standards
• Bake as needed per manager training
• Operate Square POS, handle cash, credit card payments, and process refunds with precision using proper cash handling procedures
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food preparation stations and seating areas
• Follow food safety protocols during food handling, preparation, and serving to ensure compliance with health regulations
• Assist with inventory management by restocking supplies and monitoring product freshness
• Engage in upselling techniques to enhance sales and promote menu items effectively
• Support team members during busy periods by managing multiple tasks efficiently with strong time management skills

Qualifications

• Previous barista experience or coffee industry knowledge is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential
• Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and transaction processing
• Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods, walk comfortably around the café, and lift light supplies when needed
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
• A positive attitude with a team-oriented mindset that thrives in a fast-paced environment
