Part-Time Floral Floral Designer & Retail Associate

Responsibilities (Retail):

• Assist customers in store and on the phone providing high-quality and thorough guidance and suggestions based on the seasonal selection and the occasion for the flowers
• Maintain appearance and design of the boutique, refilling inventory as needed
• Process incoming product (both floral and boutique) and maintain daily fresh floral and boutique displays in store
• Foster and strengthen client relationships during in-store visits
• Practice and help to innovate systems and procedures to help Wildroot continue to grow quickly and successfully
• Open and close retail store alone when necessary
• General cleaning and maintenance of store/work area including washing buckets/vases/glass, cleaning design table, cleaning display table, display areas, floors, windows, etc.
• On Sundays: Coordinate, route, and facilitate the day’s delivery route(s) with a focus on both efficiency and customer satisfaction

Responsibilities (Floral):

• Create floral designs incorporating effective and innovative use of color, florals, foliage, textures, and vessels in the Wildroot design style
• Wrap custom bouquets to-go for customers in store based on their selection or a selection of designer’s choice based on conversation with the customer
• Maintain pre-determined cost of goods
• Day-to-day responsibilities will vary and can include daily delivery design, corporate design, wedding and event design (in store and on site), and holiday gift design

Candidate Attributes:

• Positive response to feedback and willingness to learn, responding well to training as well as taking initiative to ask questions and take ownership of your own development
• Great sense of adaptability in a constantly-changing small business
• Passionate about high-end customer service and providing thorough guidance and advice
• May require on-site design/setup
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds

Pay & Benefits:

• $17/hour
• 40% employee discount at Wildroot
• Paid bi-weekly on Fridays. Direct deposit available.
• 40 hours Paid Sick Time provided per year to be used for unexpected absences due to illness; provided in full at the start of employment.
• Note: Wildroot Floral does not provide Paid Time Off (for vacations/holidays) for part-time employees. Wildroot Floral does not provide insurance benefits.

Schedule:

• Hours: Sun: 9:30AM-3:30PM or slightly later given time needed to close store in evening & Mon: 10AM-6PM **There are options here to split this shift into (2) scheduled shifts with slightly additional or lesser hours per week; can discuss options that fit within candidate’s availability and needs. Ex: Mon 12PM-6PM and Tue 12PM-6PM**
• This schedule will be set and kept the same week-to-week. It is subject to change in the future with business needs as Wildroot is a fast-growing small business.
• This position requires weekend availability.
• The floral industry is seasonal and weekly hours may vary throughout the year, never to fall below 14 scheduled hours/week. Part-time employees may be asked to work additional hours during busy times, though it is not required of their role to accept additional shifts.
• Busiest times of year in floral industry:
• Valentine’s Day week
• Easter week
• Mother’s Day week
• Thanksgiving week
• Christmas/winter holidays
• Specific weeks during wedding season (May through October)

Pay: $17.00 per hour
