Part Time Full Charge Bookkeeper (Permanent, In-Office)

Synergy Imports is hiring a high-trust, detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to own our day-to-day accounting and payroll administration in QuickBooks Online. This is a permanent career part-time role for someone who wants long-term ownership of essential accounting/payroll functions in a small business setting. This is not a temporary or contract position. You'll work closely with a small, tight-knit team in a fast-moving, small business environment where your work is visible and your contributions matter.

Responsibilities

  • You will be the “Financial Anchor” of the company working directly with the owner and Director of Operations to ensure our back-office is as professional as our sales team
  • Enter and pay vendor bills, including matching bills to purchase orders and reconciling vendor statements
  • Create and send customer invoices
  • Receive and apply customer payments, including credit card payments
  • Record bank deposits and manage AR aging
  • Follow up on past-due invoices professionally and consistently
  • Reconcile bank accounts and credit cards in QuickBooks Online
  • Run payroll and maintain payroll updates in QuickBooks Online Payroll
  • File/pay recurring withholding, sales & use, and unemployment tax returns
  • Maintain a compliance calendar and filing documentation
  • Own bi-weekly Account Manager commission calculations, including tracking account status transitions and producing supporting schedules
  • Prepare quarterly royalty reports
  • Ensure transactions flow correctly from our order management system into QuickBooks Online
  • Support clean, organized, audit-ready books

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience with strong day-to-day ownership of AP/AR and reconciliations
  • Strong QuickBooks Online experience, especially AP/AR, reconciliations, and clean coding/documentation practices
  • Payroll experience in QuickBooks Online Payroll or a similar system, including handling corrections and changes
  • Experience preparing and filing recurring monthly/quarterly tax returns and maintaining a compliance calendar
  • Strong accounting judgment — not just data entry
  • Able to understand the numbers, validate filings, sanity-check totals, and troubleshoot discrepancies
  • Multi-state filing experience is a strong plus
  • Organized, deadline-driven, and detail-oriented
  • Professional, discreet, and comfortable handling confidential information
  • Comfortable communicating with vendors and customers regarding billing and payment issues
  • Preferred: Current QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor Certification (Level 1 or Level 2); QBO Payroll Certification is a strong plus.

Pay: $30.00 - $33.00 per hour
