Part-Time Handyman – Residential Property Management

Company Overview:
We are a professional residential property management company serving Broward County, Florida. Our team is dedicated to providing quality service and maintenance for our tenants and property owners. We are seeking a reliable and experienced part-time handyman to join our team and assist with property upkeep and repairs.

Position Overview:
We are looking for a skilled handyman to work approximately 20 hours per week. The ideal candidate is experienced in a wide range of repair and maintenance tasks, dependable, and professional in both appearance and communication. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, solving problems, and taking pride in quality workmanship.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform general maintenance and repairs across multiple residential properties (interior and exterior).
  • Handle tasks such as plumbing repairs, electrical troubleshooting, painting, drywall, carpentry, appliance installation, and general property upkeep.
  • Complete work orders in a timely and professional manner.
  • Communicate with the property management team regarding project updates and needs.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of handyman, maintenance, or similar experience.
  • Must have own reliable vehicle and tools.
  • Strong knowledge across multiple trades (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, etc.).
  • Professional, dependable, and detail-oriented.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurance.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $25 – $30 per hour (based on experience).
  • 20 hours per week (part-time, flexible schedule).
  • Monthly gas reimbursement of $100-$150.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of residential properties, ensuring all facilities are maintained to high standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance checks to identify issues and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Oversee maintenance tasks including electrical work, welding, and residential painting as needed.
  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for tracking work orders and managing maintenance schedules.
  • Supervise maintenance staff and coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to residents, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of property management activities, including maintenance logs and tenant communications.
  • Develop and implement property management policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.

Experience
The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in facilities maintenance or property management.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and troubleshoot issues related to programmable logic controllers.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems and the use of tools such as an ohmmeter for diagnostics.
  • Supervising experience in a residential or manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
