Part-Time Homeschool Teacher (3rd Grade/9th Grade)
Location: Newport Beach, CA | In-Person | Starts ASAP

Novel Education Group is seeking a dedicated, creative, and engaging teacher to lead the homeschooling experience for two students: a 3rd grader and a 9th grader (or at least soely work with the 3rd grader). This role involves planning and delivering daily lessons, fostering curiosity, and supporting each student’s academic and personal growth.

We will provide the core curriculum, but we’re looking for a teacher who can modify lessons, adjust pacing, and tailor materials to meet our student’s needs and interests. The ideal candidate is fun, flexible, confident, and personable.

Schedule:

• 3 hours daily with each student (6 total hours)
• 5 days per week (Monday–Friday)
• Option to teach both students back-to-back, or just work with the 3rd grader

About the Students:

• 9th Grader: A sweet, kind, and energetic student who is passionate about what she believes in and what sparks her interest. Highly empathetic, she is sensitive to the challenges of others and thrives in a supportive, collaborative environment.
• 3rd Grader: A spirited and competitive student who loves sports and has a strong drive to succeed. While determined to win, he has a very sweet and caring personality that shines in his learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, personalized daily lessons
• Adapt curriculum to the student’s learning profile and interests
• Maintain weekly lesson plans using our Personalized Novel Calendar
• Track progress, assess learning, and maintain organized records
• Build a positive, trusting rapport with the student and family

Qualifications

✅ Minimum 3 years of teaching experience

✅ If applying to work with both student's, you should be able to teach both 3rd and 9th grade curriculums.
✅ Highly flexible, patient, and enthusiastic, with a proactive mindset
✅ Comfortable working independently and in a home-based setting
✅ Able to commit fully to the in-person schedule
✅ Background checked (or willing to obtain)
✅ References available upon request

While a teaching credential is not required, we are looking for someone with a professional presence, strong communication skills, and a global, open-minded perspective.
