POSITION SUMMARY:
The Part Time Human Resources Administrator is a vital member of the Executive Team and serves as the organization’s sole HR resource, supporting a staff of approximately 30 employees. Reporting directly to the owner, this role provides both strategic guidance and HR expertise to ensure compliant, efficient, and employee-centered human resources operations.
The HR Administrator oversees all core HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, employee relations, benefits coordination, HR policy implementation, and conflict resolution. As a department of one, the individual in this position must be highly organized, self-motivated, and able to balance daily operational responsibilities with broader organizational initiatives.
This role plays an essential part in fostering a cohesive, mission driven team and sustaining a positive organizational culture rooted in respect, collaboration and empowerment. The organization operates within a non-hierarchical, supportive environment grounded in lived experience, equity, and the development of diverse, next generation leaders.
Part-time — 12 hours a week, $40/hour
Flexible hours: can choose what times and days come in during business hours per week.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
· Recruitment, Onboarding & Offboarding
o Lead full-cycle recruitment for all positions across the organization.
o Coordinate new hire orientation, required documentation, and onboarding plans.
o Manage offboarding processes, conduct exit steps, and ensure proper documentation.
· Employee Relations & HR Guidance
o Serve as the primary HR resource for employees and managers.
o Provide guidance to leadership and staff on HR issues, policies, and best practices.
o Support initiatives to enhance workplace culture, communication, and employee engagement.
· Records Management & Compliance
o Maintain accurate and confidential employee records for a staff of 30.
o Ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws and internal HR policies.
· HR Policy & Process Development
o Implement, update, and communicate HR policies and procedures.
o Support payroll preparation through accurate HR data reviews and updates.
MUST-HAVE:
· Bachelor’s degree preferred.
· Minimum of five years of HR experience
· Strong understanding of HR compliance, best practices, and employment law.
· Demonstrated ability to work independently as a department of one while also collaborating effectively with the Executive Team.
· Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to uphold confidentiality and engage with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
WOULD BE GREAT TO HAVE:
● HR certification (SHRM CP or PHR)
● Bilingual English/Spanish
● Experience using Square systems
