Part-Time HR Compliance & Documentation Specialist (Healthcare Required)

Job Description:

We are a growing behavioral health and home care organization seeking a Part-Time HR Compliance & Documentation Specialist to support our leadership team.

This is a remote role requiring maximum 5 hours per week with flexible scheduling.

We are not seeking payroll or timekeeping support. Instead, we are looking for an experienced HR professional with healthcare or home care experience who can help strengthen our documentation systems, policies, and compliance practices as we grow. Minimum 3 years experience required.

This role is ideal for someone who understands California labor law and has worked in regulated environments such as home care, residential care, or behavioral health.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and organize digital employee personnel files
  • Ensure HR documentation aligns with California labor law
  • Support employee handbook updates and policy development
  • Provide guidance on employee relations matters
  • Advise on corrective actions and documentation best practices
  • Ensure alignment with CDSS and home care regulatory requirements
  • Review internal documentation for compliance gaps
  • Assist with improving HR systems and documentation workflows
  • Develop standardized templates (write-ups, corrective action forms, acknowledgments, etc.)

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of HR experience
  • Direct experience in healthcare, home care, residential care, ARF, HCO, or behavioral health settings
  • Strong working knowledge of California labor law
  • Experience supporting employee relations and corrective action processes
  • Experience in regulated environments (CDSS experience preferred)
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills
  • Comfortable advising leadership directly
  • High level of discretion and professionalism

Preferred:

  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar certification
  • Experience supporting small but growing organizations (10–50 employees)

Structure & Compensation:

  • Remote
  • Approximately 5 hours per week
  • Flexible scheduling
  • 1099 contractor
  • Hourly rate DOE (competitive for experience level)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $50.00 - $75.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 5 per week
