Part-Time HR Administrative Assistant

Schedule: Part-Time (Monday–Friday, approximately 20–25 hours per week; flexible schedule with options for school hours)
Position Overview
Phenix Label Company is seeking a detail-oriented and people-focused Part-Time HR Administrative Assistant to support daily human resources operations and front desk activities. This role plays a key part in creating a welcoming employee experience while supporting HR processes, benefits administration, and employee engagement initiatives.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of administrative responsibilities and employee interaction, and who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities

Answer phone calls, greet and assist visitors, and manage building access to ensure a welcoming environment

Maintain and organize electronic HR files, ensuring records are accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible

Assist with HRIS data entry and maintenance, including processing new hires, transfers, and terminations

Provide support to employees with HR systems, including log-in assistance and troubleshooting

Assist with benefits administration, including reconciling carrier billing statements for accuracy

Support the preparation and administration of open enrollment

Assist with performance review processes, ensuring timely completion and proper documentation

Coordinate employee engagement initiatives, including company events, wellness programs, and recognition activities

Oversee employee programs such as the lunch program, birthday recognition, and years of service milestones

Post company announcements (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.) and maintain communication boards/slides

Ensure the breakroom is stocked and maintained for employees and visitors

Perform other duties as assigned to support HR and organizational goals
Qualifications & Experience

Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or 2+ years of relevant experience required; Bachelor’s degree preferred

Previous HR, administrative, or customer service experience preferred

Experience with HRIS systems preferred

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines with a high level of accuracy

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization

High level of confidentiality and professionalism required

Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with the team

Physical Requirements

Primarily sedentary work with frequent sitting, talking, and computer use

Occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, or bending

Use of hands and fingers for typing and handling documents

Ability to work in an environment requiring accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to deadlines
Work Environment
This position is onsite at our facility in Olathe, Kansas. The role operates in a professional office environment with regular interaction across departments and occasional exposure to the adjacent manufacturing floor, including noise and distractions.
