Part-Time In-House Landscape Estimator and Designer

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Part-Time In-House Landscape Estimator and Designer to join our innovative landscape design team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating comprehensive landscape designs, accurately estimating project costs, and collaborating closely with clients and construction teams to bring visions to life. Duties

• Develop detailed landscape designs utilizing Landscape estimating software
• Prepare precise construction estimates by analyzing project scope, materials, labor costs, and timelines using construction estimating techniques
• Collaborate with clients to understand their vision, needs, and budget constraints while providing expert guidance on sustainable landscaping practices
• Create compelling visual presentations using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Creative Suite to communicate design concepts effectively
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless project execution and adherence to design specifications
• Conduct site assessments including land surveying, land planning, irrigation system layout, and landscape maintenance considerations
• Incorporate hardscape elements such as patios, walkways, retaining walls, and other structural features into comprehensive designs

Requirements

• Proven experience in landscape architecture or design with proficiency in SketchUp, AutoCAD, Rhinoceros 3D, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation or similar CAD software
• Strong knowledge of horticulture principles and sustainable landscaping practices
• Familiarity with GIS tools like ArcGIS or ArcView for land analysis and planning purposes
• Experience in construction estimating including materials takeoffs and cost analysis
• Ability to interpret civil engineering drawings and land surveying data accurately
• Skilled in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Creative Suite for visual presentations and client proposals
• Cost Estimation and Documentation:
• Prepare, format, and refine detailed estimates in accordance with company and client standards.
• Review drawings and specifications from contractors with great detail to prepare precise
• Design Landscape Projects
• Project Coordination:
• Serve as the primary liaison with general contractors to ensure clear communication and effective project execution.
• Coordinate meetings and maintain open lines of communication with all stakeholders.
• Contract and Submittal Reviews:
• Review project contracts for clarity, compliance, and risk management.
• Evaluate submittals from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure alignment with project specifications and quality standards.
• Office and Communication Management:
• Knowledge of irrigation systems installation, landscape maintenance strategies, and hardscape construction techniques
