The Opportunity
Join our dynamic team as an Interior Design Assistant & Project Manager. This is a hands-on role designed for a passionate, high-energy individual—ideally a design student or recent graduate—eager to see projects move from initial concept to final styling. You will work side-by-side with our Lead Designer, acting as the organizational engine that keeps our creative visions on track.
The Logistics
- Status: Temporary (9 Months) with potential to transition into a permanent part-time role.
- Role Type: Paid, Part-Time. 25 hrs/week max. Hourly pay: $25-$35/hr based on experience.
- Location: Greater Boston/Hybrid. Typically 1-2 days a week in the field, but mostly WFH.
What You’ll Do
- Design Support: Assist in developing concepts, mood boards, and detailed client presentations.
- Project Management: Prepare schedules, budgets, and procurement lists; manage project documentation including contracts and renovation timelines. Lead all team meetings and take detailed notes of project updates, share with the team.
- Procurement: Oversee and track all procurement of FF&E. Complete all purchasing using company card. Coordinate with consolidators or client for deliveries.
- Client & Vendor Liaison: Act as a daily point of contact for clients; coordinate with contractors and suppliers to ensure quality standards and deadlines are met.
- Gatekeeping: Manage the Lead Designer’s schedule and keep them briefed on all project milestones.
- On-Site Oversight: Conduct site visits to monitor all aspects of construction, lighting installation, and overall quality; proactively solve issues as they arise.
- Business Operations: Execute monthly invoicing in collaboration with our bookkeeper.

- Detail-Obsessed: You catch the tiny errors—from a shipping delay to a 1/4" measurement discrepancy—before they become big problems.
- A Problem Solver: When a vendor says "backordered," you’ve already found two viable alternatives.
- An Expert Communicator: You can interpret technical drawings for a contractor and explain a design vision to a client with equal clarity.
Qualifications
- Background: Current enrollment in or recent graduation from an Interior Design or Business Management related program is preferred but not required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Google Suite, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Revit, Rhinoceros 3D, and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred but not required.
- Design Knowledge: A strong grasp of color theory, lighting, remodeling processes, and construction management.
- Bonus Points: Familiarity with CAD drafting standards.
- Essentials: Exceptional time management and a reliable form of transportation for site visits.
