Location: Signal Hill, CA, American University Research Academy

Overview: We are seeking an experienced and passionate Part-Time Math Teacher to join our

team. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience teaching the Math

course. This position oJers an exciting opportunity to inspire and guide students in their learning

journey, fostering a deep understanding and appreciation for Math within the framework of the IB.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and interactive lessons that align with the IB DP and MYP Math

curriculum.

• Create and implement eJective lesson plans, incorporating a variety of teaching strategies

to accommodate diverse learning styles.

• Foster a positive and supportive learning environment conducive to academic growth and

personal development.

• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to facilitate their progress and

achievement of learning objectives.

• Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary units and promote cross curricular connections.

• Utilize technology and other resources to enhance teaching and learning experiences.

• Support students in their preparation for internal assessments, exams, and other IB

requirements.

• Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure transparency

and collaboration in the educational process.

• Stay abreast of developments in the field of Math education and incorporate innovative

practices into teaching methodologies.

• Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously enhance teaching

skills and pedagogical approaches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Math or related field; Master's degree preferred.

• Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in the IB Math program or others.

• Strong understanding of the curriculum framework and assessment requirements.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to eJectively engage

and motivate students.

• Passion for education and a commitment to student success and holistic development.

• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive school culture.

• Demonstrated proficiency in integrating technology into teaching practices.

• Flexibility, adaptability, and a growth mindset in response to the evolving needs of

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 20 per week
