Role Description
We are a dynamic, fast-paced organization with a strong focus on collaboration and innovation. Our Cambridge office serves as a vital hub for our U.S. operations, and we are seeking a Part-Time IT Consultant to provide hands-on technical support and ensure seamless operation of all office technology. This role is ideal for an experienced, professional, and proactive IT specialist seeking a flexible, part-time opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Provide first-level technical support to office employees via phone, email, and in-person.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues promptly and efficiently.
- Set up, configure, and maintain computer systems, printers, electronic display monitors, and other office electronic equipment.
- Support smartphone setup, configuration, and troubleshooting (iOS and Android), including installation and management of business-related applications.
- Install, configure, and update all required business software, including Adobe Acrobat, Docusign, and the Microsoft 365 Suite.
- Manage user accounts, access permissions, and security configurations.
- Maintain accurate inventory and documentation of IT assets.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on IT tools and best practices.
- Collaborate with the IT team to enhance IT policies, procedures, and system performance.
- Ensure professional and respectful communication when assisting team members.
- Follow instructions and company protocols carefully to maintain operational consistency and security compliance.
- Perform other IT administrative or technical tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in an IT support or helpdesk role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems. Experience in setting up new employee laptops and configuring required security and endpoint management software(e.g. Microsoft Intune).
- Familiarity with common office software and applications.
- Experience in managing Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace environments as an IT administrator (e.g.,Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
- Familiarity with common business software applications (Adobe, Docusign, Microsoft Office, etc.).
- Experience setting up and maintaining various electronic devices, including monitors, smartphones, electronic access to office and audiovisual systems.
- Basic understanding of networking principles and troubleshooting.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Availability to provide onsite support twice per week, with remotely support for the rest of the week.
- Have flexibility to accommodate urgent issues.
- Ability to respond quickly and efficiently to user requests, ensuring same-day resolution of issues and requirements whenever possible.
