Job Description

Apex Strategic Solutions LLC is seeking a Part-Time Jewish Rabbi to provide ministry and spiritual services for Jewish recruits at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) in San Diego, CA. The Rabbi will lead weekly Sunday services, conduct special holiday observances, and provide pastoral care and religious education in alignment with Jewish doctrine and military regulations.

This role is vital to fostering an environment that supports the free exercise of religion as guaranteed by the First Amendment, while also working collaboratively in a pluralistic military setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead weekly Jewish religious services each Sunday.
• Conduct special holiday observances (Rosh HaShana, Yom Kippur, Hanukkah, Passover, Sukkot, and Shavout).
• Provide pastoral care and counseling to recruits in accordance with Jewish doctrine.
• Deliver religious education as part of weekly services.
• Collaborate with the Command Chaplain, Recruit Training Regiment staff, and other military or contract chaplains.
• Ensure all activities comply with Navy and Marine Corps regulations.
• Prepare and submit reports and documentation as required.

Qualifications

• Ordination: Certified Rabbi in good standing with a recognized faith group or rabbinical authority.
• Ability to obtain or maintain a relationship with Aleph or the Jewish Welfare Board within six months.
• Must successfully pass a background check (local, state, and national).
• Familiarity with or willingness to learn military protocol, customs, and courtesies.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Schedule & Commitment

• Weekly services every Sunday.
• Six holiday observances per year.
• Part-time schedule aligned with the training regiment’s needs.
• Initial contract is 1 year, with the possibility of up to 4 option years based on performance.

Pay

• Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications.
• Contract-based position (Firm Fixed Price).
