The Department of Chemistry and Physical Sciences at St. Joseph's University is seeking two Part-Time Laboratory Technician/Safety Officers to support the academic laboratory program one position based at the Brooklyn campus and one at the Long Island campus.
The Laboratory Technician/Safety Officer plays a key role in supporting instructional laboratories, maintaining chemical safety compliance, managing hazardous waste procedures, and assisting faculty and students in laboratory operations. The position supports general chemistry, organic chemistry, and laboratory courses for non-science majors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with the collection, classification, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemical waste.
Maintain hazardous waste documentation, manifests, inspection logs, and compliance records.
Ensure adherence to federal and state hazardous waste and transportation regulations.
