Part Time Lead Preschool Teacher (2+ yrs exp req)

Trinity Preschool Alexandria, a VDOE-licensed child day center serving children ages 18mos to 5 years old, is hiring a Lead Teacher for our half-day preschool program. Optional before and aftercare shifts are available for staff who want additional hours.

Core program hours are 8:30 am - 12:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with optional before care (8:00 - 9:00 am) and aftercare (12:00 - 5:00 pm) shifts available and paid hourly.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement VDOE-compliant, developmentally appropriate curriculum
• Maintain a safe, nurturing classroom and manage daily routines
• Conduct child observations and maintain developmental portfolios
• Communicate regularly with families about children's progress
• Supervise and mentor assistant teachers
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and licensing reviews

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (or equivalent VA credential) preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a licensed preschool or childcare setting
• Current VA Preschool endorsement preferred
• Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Must pass background check per VDOE requirements

Pay: $19.10 - $20.15 per hour
