Part-Time Librarian
Tallahassee State College (TSC), recently recognized as one of the Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges for 2025, is excited to announce an opening for the position of Part-Time Librarian with Information Literacy and Research. We’re looking for someone who shares our commitment to fostering a vibrant campus community.
What You’ll Do
As Part-Time Librarian, you will be responsible for:
Answering questions and assisting with research in person and by telephone and with other technologies.- Assisting library users in the use of print and on-line resources and in locating materials.
- Responding to routine problems that library users may encounter with computers, printers, copiers, software and other technology.
- Maintaining currency regarding reference, research, and database sources.
- Performing other position specific functions as assigned.
- Opening and closing the library, as needed.
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday; 20 – 25 hours per week
Hours of Operation: Monday – Thursday, 7:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. and
Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a candidate who brings not only technical expertise but also a passion for education and student success. Our ideal candidate will have:
- Master of Library and Information Science Degree from an ALA-accredited institution or currently in school for a Master of Library Science or
- Master of Science Information Degree.
- Some customer service and library experience preferred.
