Position Overview

Keith Country Day School is seeking a knowledgeable, organized, and enthusiastic Part-Time Librarian to manage and promote the school's library program for students in Preschool through Grade 12. The ideal candidate will foster a love of reading, support information literacy, collaborate with faculty, and maintain a welcoming learning environment that encourages intellectual curiosity and lifelong learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the school library, including circulation, cataloging, and collection maintenance
• Curate and develop a diverse, age-appropriate collection of print and digital resources
• Promote literacy and a love of reading through book displays, reading initiatives, and library programming
• Assist students and faculty with research, information literacy, and resource selection
• Collaborate with teachers to support curriculum objectives and classroom projects
• Maintain library technology and digital resources, including online databases and research tools
• Instruct students in responsible information gathering, research methods, and digital citizenship
• Monitor and evaluate library materials to ensure relevance and alignment with educational goals
• Maintain an organized, welcoming, and inclusive library environment
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events as appropriate

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Education, Information Science, or a related field required
• Master's degree in Library Science (MLS/MLIS) preferred
• Previous experience working in a school library or educational setting preferred
• Knowledge of library management systems and educational technology
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with faculty and staff
