Part-time Library Assistant

The Sullivan County Public Library is seeking a fun and engaging candidate to assist with circulation and programming tasks at our Thomas Memorial branch. Candidates must be willing to work at least 2 Saturdays each month. Shifts are usually 9-5, but some evening work may be required for program facilitation.

Ideal candidates are passionate about reading, technology, and actively engaging with the community.

Responsibilities include:

• Responsible for coordinating with presenters and/or facilitating monthly programs for adults on a variety of topics including crafts, health, technology, and more
• Work with Branch Manager and Youth Services coordinator to plan and facilitate monthly programs for youth
• Complete circulation duties as directed by the Branch Manager
• Work with the Branch Manager to serve the programming needs of the community
• Receives and records money per library policies
• Work with the Library Director to develop an individual plan for continuing education and professional development

Candidates must be willing to complete a background check.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $15.50 per hour

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• Library services: 1 year (Preferred)
